This is a swim program for babies, age 6 months to 3 years, with Mom and/or Dad. The program stresses water safety knowledge and practice, aquatic adjustment and swimming readiness skills, as well as fun and enjoyment in the water.
For safety reasons there must be one adult per child and NO OTHER CHILDREN LEFT UNATTENDED IN THE AREA. EVERYONE MUST WAIT IN THE WADING POOL AREA UNTIL YOUR CHILD'S CLASS IS CALLED. All participants must leave the area before 1:00 p.m., and then they may re-enter for open swim.
Please NO disposable diapers (Huggies Swimmies are acceptable), and tight fitting rubber pants are required over cloth diapers or training pants if your child is not toilet trained. No glass bottles or inflatable flotation devices are allowed. Any Styrofoam flotation devices are acceptable.
FAQ's
Q. My child is on a wait list for a program. How will I know when a spot has opened up?
A. You will receive an email notification. If you let us know in advance you would prefer a phone call, we'll call you when your child is moved from the wait list. If, after the email notification has gone out and we haven't heard from you, we will call you. Keep in mind that we use the information that's in your online account, so it's important that it's up-to-date and accurate.
Q. Can I register for multiple waiting list spots if my child is already registered for a class that session.
A. No, once you are registered for a swim lesson in a session you may not register for multiple waiting list spots in hopes of changing your time slot.
Q. Can my child’s friend have my spot in a class or on the waiting list if we are unable to attend?
A. No. We cannot transfer registrations to friends.
Q. Are summer swim lessons at the Aurora Community Pool cancelled when it is raining out?
A. Not if it is a light rain. Summer swim lessons are cancelled only if it is a heavy downpour, lightning, thunder or if the outside temperature is below 65. If unsure, call the pool at 716-652-6980, or check to see if there's an Alert message on the homepage of the website; cancellations are posted there.
