Pre-School swim instruction is for children 3 & 4 years of age without the
parent. Children will learn proper water entry and exit, underwater exploration,
back float position, back glide, arm movement, prone glide, water safety and
more. Red Cross Pre-School aquatic skills are taught by American Red Cross
certified water safety instructors and aides. Enrollment in each half-hour class
will be limited, striving to keep the instructor/student ratio at 1/6. No flotation
devices.
FAQ's
Q. Can I register for multiple waiting list spots if my child is already registered for a class that session.
A. No, once you are registered for a swim lesson in a session you may not register for multiple waiting list spots in hopes of changing your time slot.
Q. Can my child’s friend have my spot in a class or on the waiting list if we are unable to attend?
A. No. We cannot transfer registrations to friends.
Q. My child is on a wait list for a program. How will I know when a spot has opened up?
A. You will receive an email notification. If you let us know in advance you would prefer a phone call, we'll call you when your child is moved from the wait list. If, after the email notification has gone out and we haven't heard from you, we will call you. Keep in mind that we use the information that's in your online account, so it's important that it's up-to-date and accurate.
Q. Are summer swim lessons at the Aurora Community Pool cancelled when it is raining out?
A. Not if it is a light rain. Summer swim lessons are cancelled only if it is a heavy downpour, lightning, thunder or if the outside temperature is below 65. If unsure, call the pool at 716-652-6980, or check to see if there's an Alert message on the homepage of the website; cancellations are posted there.

- Parents are not allowed in the pool area during swim lessons
- No refunds or transfers
