What:  Kids Plein Air Art Camp:   The beauty of creating outside, from your surroundings, is an art form that is quickly being surpassed by tablets and screens. In this mixed media art camp, we will focus on the beauty of the park and learning how to capture and create from our surroundings.  Exploring new materials each day, the students will use the inspiration of the natural surroundings to create using organic materials, alternative printing processes and engage in tactile art forms like weaving, shibori dyeing and other mixed media. Taught by a multiple media artist specializing in fiber and natural dyes, this camp will expose children to an array of art forms rooted in the environment that they create in. All supplies included.

FAQ's
. Once I register for an activity, will I receive any notice or reminder that the program is starting?

A. The only confirmation you will receive after an online registration is an email receipt. You will not receive any further reminders. If you register by mail, you will receive an email receipt if we have your email address. Otherwise, you will only be notified if there is not space available. We do not send reminders of programs starting.

Q. My child is on a wait list for a program. How will I know when a spot has opened up?

A. You will receive an email notification. If you let us know in advance you would prefer a phone call, we'll call you when your child is moved from the wait list. If, after the email notification has gone out and we haven't heard from you, we will call you. Keep in mind that we use the information that's in your online account, so it's important that it's up-to-date and accurate.

Q. Can my child’s friend have my spot in a class or on the waiting list if we are unable to attend?

A. No. We cannot transfer registrations to friends.

Q. When do you cancel summer programs due to weather?

A. We try very hard to run our programs every day. We make the decision to cancel due to weather 30 minutes before the program begins. Please check the homepage of the website; cancellations are posted there.
